About

Tobias began presenting radio shows for the BBC at the age of about ten. Back then, the station reached only as far as his parents’ sitting room and BBC stood for Bown Broadcasting Corporation.

He used to sit between two CD players and chat between the songs. These early experiences led him to Hospital Radio Colchester and then behind the scenes as a Broadcast Assistant at BBC Radio Suffolk (where he worked as he studied for his A-Levels and degree). This included some wonderful time working as Station Sound Producer.

Presenting grew to dominate, firstly during his university years with student station cur1350 (which later became CamFM in Cambridge) and then since 2016 for Cambridge105 Radio (the community radio station for the city and south Cambridgeshire). In January 2022, Tobias joined the launch line-up for GenX Radio Suffolk.

Throughout this time Tobias has also completed freelance voice over work for radio and documentaries, hosted a great range of live events, from variety shows to quizzes, started a podcast with his wife and appeared on screen as the face and voice of various aspects of his day job as a teacher.

Examples of Tobias’ work can be found under the Media tab.

Tobias lives in Cambridgeshire with his wife and two children.
